The first presentation of the night actually went to the club from the English Cricket Board as ECB's development manager for Leicestershire and Rutland Jed MacDougall handed over their ECB Clubmark accreditation.Clubmark is an important landmark for Thorpe who had to show proficiency in duty and care for safeguarding children, the Cricket Programme, sports equity and ethics and overall club management.Thorpe have also been nominated as an ECB Focus club to act as a development hub for other clubs, which will entitle them to ECB cash grants.Both first and second XI captains Dil Yahathugoda and Ian Hickman reflected on the fantastic progress made this season and highlighted performances from several players after both teams just missed out on promotion in the County League, finishing fourth in their respective divisions.There were also good performances among the Sunday sides. The Third XI also just missed out on promotion in the Grantham and Melton Association, finishing third in Division Three under the captaincy of Chris Waldron, while the Fourths, led by Barry Lecoyte, ended the season mid-table in Division Two.The Tuesday Burrough League side, skippered by Joe Gant, won the Division Two title and promotion.Chairman Richard Skelton thanked members for the club's success throughout the season before club president John Skelton presented the awards.Winners:- Under 17s - player of the year: Mark Starkey; batsmen of the year: Alex Renwick; bowler of the year: Mark Pick. Fourth XI player of the year: Toby Earl. Third XI: Matt Lane. Second XI: Chris Waldron
