Indian boards income crosses Rs 1000 crore

LAHORE: Believe it or not, the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) went past Rs 1000 crore in the year 2007-08 for the first time in its 79-year history. To be precise, the board took in Rs 1000.41 crore, a whopping 46 percent increase from 2006-07 when their earnings were 651.81 crore. According to report on a cricket website, the figures will definitely increase the BCCIs status as the International Cricket Councils (ICC) richest and most powerful board member. Cricket players in India who are already some of the highest-paid sportsmen in the world will get handsome pay rise next year
